Tariff Extensions
President Trump extended the effective date of the country-specific reciprocal tariffs until August 1, 2025, except for China, which already has an extension date of August 12, 2025. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued official guidance (CSMS #65573545) on the extensions on July 8, 2025.
Tariff Amendments
On July 7, 2025, the White House announced the following adjustments from the original country-specific tariff amounts for the countries below, which are scheduled to go into effect after August 1, 2025, unless there is a further adjustment or extension.

- Bosnia and Herzegovina (30%)
- Cambodia (36%)
- Indonesia (32%)
- Japan (25%)
- Kazakhstan (25%)
- Korea (25%)
- Laos (40%)
- Malaysia (25%)

Brazil Tariffs (Announced)
(50%) – On July 9, 2025, President Trump announced that the U.S. would be implementing a 50% tariff on all Brazilian goods imported into the U.S., effective August 1, 2025. The Brazilian government vows to match any U.S. tariffs imposed.
Canada Tariffs (Announced)
(35%) – On July 10, 2025, the President mentioned in an interview that he plans to increase Canadian tariffs to 35% next month.
Copper Tariffs (Announced)
(50%) – In a Cabinet meeting this week, the President commented, “I believe the tariff on copper, we’re going to make it 50%.” Thus far, there is no announced date of implementation.
Tariffs – All Other Countries (Announced)
In an interview this week, the President alluded to increasing the current 10% global baseline blanket tariff to 15% – 20%. A set date was not commented on.
FDA Rescinds Low-Value Shipment Exemption
Effective immediately, the FDA has rescinded its de minimis exemption for low-value shipments. This means all FDA-regulated products, regardless of value, must now be submitted for FDA review. This change overrides all previous guidance that allowed some low-value shipments to be released without review
